Miss Magnolia

Last night I had the privilege, once again to work with Magnolia. As always, it was so much fun and we got so many laughs out of her! (Well, that is her parents anyways.) The past two years, I have heard so many "bribes" to get children to cooperate, but this one family seems to have the touch every time! Magnolia's mom last night said, Miss Devin is the only one that ever gets to see us act this crazy! I love every minute of it though. I am excited to finish up this session, but thought I would share a few with you!

P.S. Loved the new location! The red barn just added the finishing touch.

Magnolia was upset that she couldn't have a cookie, so we gave in and so glad we did, because they turned out super cute! (Or at least in my opinion they did!)

2 years!

I can't believe that it has been two years this month since I opened SeeKING Photos?. There have been so many changes, for the good and I have been blessed with many opportunities. I absolutely love the relationships that have formed and look forward to the new families that I will be meeting in upcoming sessions.

I have been absolutely horrible at keeping up with the blog the past two years. I contemplated whether or not to pay someone to re-design it or do it myself and then even tossed the idea of designing a website. At this time though, I have sat down (and fought through some frustration) and re-designed the blog myself and going to see where it goes from here! :)

This weekend, I will be doing a "first." I have 12 mini Christmas sessions planned! (By the way, I have two openings, if anyone is interested.) I have been working hard on getting decorations together and can't wait to see how the finish product looks. Black Friday is coming up as well, will hopefully have a great deal posted for everyone, so keep an eye out on Facebook.

It feels great to be back to "blogging" and I can't wait to keep up with sessions on here as well as Facebook! Thanks to all of you who have made SeeKING Photos? a success and have allowed me to do something that I love!

For now, I want to leave you with one picture that has become a favorite:
This couple was so fun to work with and enjoyed getting to know them both!

Have a great week!!! :)

So much to catch up on...

Wow! Can't believe it has been so long since I have posted on my blog. To be honest with you all, I have thought about it and just didn't really push myself to post, because I didn't think anyone ever looked at it. Well, I was completely wrong. I received an email this week from a lady from Omaha, Nebraska. She mentioned that she saw my blog online (I was totally shocked!) and was wondering if I was still in business. I quickly responded and told her yes, that I actually just quit posting, cause I didn't think it was much use. So thanks to her, I have decided to update my blog, make a few changes on it and try my best to start posting with each session I do. I am so oblivious when it comes to this type of stuff so just bear with me, while I try to reorganize/decorate the blog as a whole.
So much has happened within the past few months and I am truly blessed with everything that God is doing with SeeKING Photos?! It has been so neat to meet many new families and not only take pictures, but grow closer to each individual. Just this past week, I paid off my camera, which was a HUGE praise to me! Like I have said before, I went into this laying it in God's hands and just hoping for the best. When I bought my camera, at the time, I didn't have the money for it, I took out a loan and a few shorts months later I am able to completely pay it off (like 5 months early!)
I am looking forward to being home this summer and plan on taking LOTS of pictures! :) A few changes will take place though effective July 1st and I have included them below:

- Due to increase number of bookings, your photo session will begin promptly at your scheduled time. Please make all attempts to be on time in order to allow for a quality session. (If you have an hour session and you are 15 minutes late, your session will only be 45 minutes long.)

-  I feel creativity and uniqueness in photo sessions is based on personality and interest of my clients. Often my first meeting with my clients is at the photo session and I am not familiar with your personality or style. Therefore, to make this session unique for you, you are responsible for choosing ONE location within 15 miles of Jasper. If there are props that you feel will enhance your portrait, please do not hesitate to bring them along.

- My biggest change that will take place is that you will now have the option to purchase a CD of your session, whereas  you were not able to before. A CD will cost $150 after a $125 minimum print purchase (CDs will only be sold when the minimum price is reached). This DOES NOT include wedding CDs.

I look forward to serving you and making things better for both my clients and the business as a whole. If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for choosing me to capture your memories.

I am hoping to be able to update my pictures as well on the blog! :) I have had SO many photo shoots since the last time I have posted, maybe I can just do a slide show (I'll work on that! :))

Have a blessed week!

Prize time! :)

Hey guys! Hope things are going great! I am staying super busy with school and photography on the weekends. This past week I was able to give the McLeod family a $300 check to help out with medical expenses. It was a big blessing to not only them, but to me, knowing that we (as SeeKING Photos?) got the opportunity to bless another family! Right now, for the next week, for every $50 that is spent, we will donate a pair of new children shoes to the Samaritan shoe drive! It's neat to see what all God is doing with my business!

I haven't had a "prize" give away in quite a while, so I wanted to give you all the opportunity to win a $20 session +  free 11x14. All you have to do is either email me or comment under the blog. The only catch is..you must write who you love the most and why. :) (Since it is close to Valentine's Day.) I hope you all have a blessed week! I will give you until Monday, February 14th at 4 to get your chance to win in. I will do a random drawing between those people, to see who the lucky winner is!

LAYCON-Senior

It seems like just yesterday I was a Junior and would "haul" Laycon around after school. We made a lot memories in that time and I really enjoyed the time we got to spend together. We had our fights, we shared laughs, but it's the memories that we made together that we will never forget. Laycon contacted me on Friday and asked me what I had going on this weekend? She said, "I need to get pictures done, but you know I'm not the posey type, so I don't know what to do." Well...on Saturday whenever she got out of my car when we were done with our photo shoot she said, "That wasn't that bad!" :) Thanks Layc for letting me capture these special moments in your life!! I really enjoyed our visit!

Maternity/Senior Sessions!! :)

So far, the year has started off GREAT! Being off for a month in December/January, really gave me some time to get some things situated with SeeKING Photos? and my personal life. Starting back to school this week is going to make for a few changes. Where I was available in the afternoons during the week, I will only be available on Fridays and Saturdays. I've read several places where photographers get so caught up in their "business" life, they often put their family/friends to the side, so this year, I will be leaving Sundays open during the weekends to spend time with loved ones.

At times when you feel as if nothing is going your way, God puts a hand in it and everything gets better! :) There are  times when I just feel like throwing my hands in the air and saying there is no use in trying to run this business, attend college, and try to make a living off of each photo shoot. God has proved me wrong numerous times, so I am VERY excited to see what is in store for months to come. My last weekend, before I left for school was a HUGE success! I had an amazing maternity shoot with a very sweet family and an adventurous and awesome session with a JHS Senior!

This past week, I had a "mom" contact me over facebook and say, I loved the pictures you did for a friend of mine and I would really like to get maternity pictures done. Come to find out, she was only 3 weeks away from the due date, so we had to get it booked and done SOON! The following weekend we set up an appointment and it went GREAT! I went home to my mom and said, "That was the picture perfect family!" The little girl was gorgeous and just by the look on the parent's face, you could tell they were very anxious and excited for the little one to come along. :)

I can't wait until lil' Logan makes his arrival!

After a great maternity shoot, I couldn't wait until my Senior that afternoon! About a month ago, I posted that I was looking for a Senior girl to take pictures of. (Here lately I have been focusing on families and children, so I knew knew that I had to get the word out that I did Seniors also.) Not even an hour after I posted that I was looking for a senior, Jame contacted me and said she would be interested! I knew that was the perfect person...I was very excited for this photo shoot to take place! Knowing I had to put my thinking cap on and come up with creative ways to use baseballs, old trucks, pastures, ect. Jame was up for anything and after each pose, she would say, "Let's go see what else we can find!" Being easy going and up for anything, makes my job easier! :) I really enjoyed this photo shoot and can't wait for more Senior sessions to take place!

If you are interested in booking a Senior session please email me at d_b_09@yahoo.com, post a comment under the blog, or message me, Devin Moorhead on Facebook.

Thank you to The Browns and Jame for letting me capture these special memories in your life!

**Don't forget that you and your loved one can book a mini session (30 minutes) for only $14 between now and Valentines Day! Book soon...appointments are filling up fast!
